Is Carl Everett Really That Bad?

Judge for yourself. Follow this link and read some analysis from Steve over at SportSpot. The GM and the manager should be ashamed.

Though I don't get to watch the games that often on TV, I watch them via ESPN on the internet. I don't know what happened this evening with JJ Putz and Grover getting the thumb, but as far as I'm concerned, he shouldn't have even stopped in the club house, he should have kept on going and taken Carl with him. So many blown chances with runners in scoring position, even though Putz had a BS. As the season wears on, all I find myself doing is watching the kids progress. Good to see Jones get his first hits tonight, hopefully the start of big things. If he is able to learn his defensive position on the job quickly, we are set up the middle for another 10 years or so. Right now, we need a consistent DH and 1B which can be solved by bringing up Doyle for LF and putting Ibanez at DH and DFAing Carl. If there's not a chance of resigning Meche, now is the time to trade him and get something for him. It would be terrible to lose him without compensation. (no Draft picks either). Mateo and Piniero can go too!
