Road Trip Report - Game 6

The only thing I have to say after watching last night's debacle in Oakland will take the form of a question - how much longer until Spring Training?

Good article over at ESPN by bill simmons on contenders for the AL crown. (don't have the url)Talks about how Grover has abused Lowe and Soriano. I haven't become physically ill about the season, but then again, I never got seasick either, just a periodic headache, and I've had plenty of them this season. Yep, too bad Spring training is so far away.

While watching tonights game on gamecast (ESPN) I have come to the conclusion that there is not a pitcher on the Mariners staff that is Mentally tough. Watching Meche struggle in the 2nd and eventually give up 3 runs, as soon as he gets in trouble he starts trying to hit the corners and ends up walking someone, creating bigger problems. As a matter of a fact, I don't think that anyone on the Team is tough enough mentally to be the leader on this team. Leadership is definitely something that is missing here. Somebody's got to step up and be the man, maybe even kick someones butt or get into a fight on the field. We need a pitcher to throw one of those 96 mph fastballs right at another teams best player. How do you load the bases, with one out, and fail to at least score 1 run. 2 consecutive strike outs. The A's are in the M's heads and we need somebody to step up and do what is needed to get this monkey off our backs.
