So Now What?

I haven't posted recently because I really don't know what to think about this team, let alone what to write about them. Some days the offense looks pretty good - other days not. The starting pitching has been a problem - and appears that it will continue to be so. At least King Felix is due to come back next week - but not sure that he can be expected to carry the entire load. My optimism is fading fast...

After tonights 9-2 M's win, Maybe a pennant is not in the works, but maintaining a .500 record while Felix is out, is commendable. Baek has shown some good #3 pitching skills, while Washburn continues to amaze me this year. The sad part is that we keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, and taps to be sounded. .500 against the Red Sox, White Sox, Yankees and Tigers would be something to be a little anxious about. .650 against the rest of the AL West is something to crow about. Again, that bad part is waiting for everything to fall apart. I will be the first to admit that they have looked much better than I thought they could have especially with Felix down, Weaver and Ramirez sucking. I think that there are too many overcast days up there to see those rays of sunlight.

Keep the faith, (for another month or so).

Will the M's make a decision this early in the year, even if it is warranted? I don't think that Weaver can pitch out of the bullpen, he's had terrible first innings, and since Mateo had recently filled that role, there's not another place left for him. But to eat 9 mil this early, might be too much for even M's management to stomach. Guess will find out soon.
