Hey Richie, I'll Tell You Why

Before I go on to tell Richie Sexson why the fans in Seattle have been on his ass, I would like to mention how nice it is (finally) to be a fan of this ballclub again. Go M's!!

So Richie, ya think the fans might be tired of seeing crappy baseball being played at Safeco Field? And do you also think that the fans might hold you guys to a higher standard in light of the fact that the team has not played well for the last three years? Just tossing that out there. By the way, nice dinger last night in the 9th. Keep doing stuff like that and I guarantee no more boos for you!!

Amazing that for 2 nights/days in a row, the M's have had a chance to take over sole possession of the wild card, plus pick up a game or two in the West standings, and failed miserably both times. Lots of mental errors out there, making one wonder if this team is ready for the limelight. Big series with the White Sox, coming up, and with the Yanks playing the Tigers, another big chance for the M's to put some distance between them and the Yanks at least in the Wild Card. Not much help in gaining ground on the Angels as they have a road series with the Blue Jays, picking up 1 game in the standings would bode well for this team. After all, we're just looking for a little consistency. A nice 8 game win streak is in order right now. If nothing else, a sweep of the white sox, a series win over the twins, and a sweep of the Rangers along with a series win over the Angels (at home) would be sweet, and adding the cherry to the top would be a win over cleveland in the make up game. My fever is 108, and I believe I have a touch of Malaria, must have been from all the prophalaxis I took in the Gulf.

GO M's.

Please let them not make a deal for Jose Contreras. :)

I'd take a shot at Wells regardless of his recent performances. A character in the clubhouse, but someone with a real feel for the game and lots of post season experience.

Yup - sign Boomer to a heavily incentive laden contract. Today. :)

Say what you want about Vidro, but in all fairness, he has fit in quite well with this team, and has even provided a little spark. I know he's old and slow, He may not hit for power or be the prototypical DH, but we were pretty spoiled by Edgar's outstanding career, and knowing that Snelling was being hyped as the next great Seattle DH, I think that Vidro has filled in admirably. Just keep him away from 2B. Big road trip, close to 20 games over .500. Here's keeping my fingers crossed for a turnaround game for HoRam tomorrow.
