Stick a fork in the 2008 Seattle Mariners - they are done. If you don't believe this to be true, check out what my esteemed colleague Dave over at USS Mariner has to say about this subject today. These are numbers that cannot be refuted. Hopefully Bill Bavasi will get rid of the dead wood currently on the roster, bring up the kids and start building a good team for 2009.

Boy, if it can go wrong, it has so far, if its not the offense, its the pitching, if its not the pitching, its the defense. This is a team that is lost. I liked Dave's comments in an earlier post about what they should be doing right now. Obviously there's no salvaging this team, so they're going to have to trade of players. Although it gets old year after year, maybe there's a way to get enough back to make them competitive in the not too distant future. Here's hoping.

Theres a chance I'll be up your way the end of July, so if you're available, I'd like to buy you a beer. More to follow.
