Five In A Row

Generally speaking, having your team win five games in a row is a good thing.  And I suppose that on some level, the win streak that the Mariners are currently on is a good thing.  But in other ways, it is not such a good thing at all.  Coming after the team buried itself in the AL West, it's the kind of thing that gets broadcasters and some fans excited about another "miracle" comeback.  The anemic offense guarantees that no miracles are going to happen in Seattle this year - the 2010 Mariners are very well done.  Now it becomes an exercise in figuring out what needs to be done to make sure that the "light bat" syndrome is addressed for next year.
