A Spark Of Hope?

When I made my last blog post eleven days ago, I was honestly thinking "will I spend any more time writing about these guys?".  The Mariners were a bad team playing bad baseball.  Now, not so much.  A sweep in Detroit has started me thinking that there may be hope for these guys after all.  Of course that may change pending the outcome of the weekend series in Boston, but at this point I'm mostly optimistic.

Ryan Divish has a nice update over at the TNT - go read it.  And Go Mariners!!

Not sure there is really anything else to say at this point.  Well maybe Larry LaRue has a few well chosen words that you should go and look at.

It's Gonna Be A Long Season...

We are a week into the 2011 campaign, and I wanted to share a couple of points.
  • The Mariners still can't hit.
  • Felix and Pineda are going to be fun to watch.  I may even have to include Erik Bedard in the mix.
  • I miss Guti.
  • I'm having some very serious doubts about the bullpen.
  • Does it come as a surprise that there are still tickets left for the home opener?

Opening Day

There are lots of reasons to be excited by Opening Day.  The great Larry Stone provides his top ten list over at The Times.  I'm just happy that when the ump calls "Play Ball!" tonight it's for real.  Go M's!
